I caught and released this 26" brown on the Norfork River in Arkansas on February 24, 2006 using a G. Loomis GLX 5 weight, 2 piece rod. The fly was a size 14 dark brown sowbug on 5x tippet under an indicator. Although I did not measure the girth, it was massive as can be seen from the picture. The fish was incredibly strong and estimates are that it weighed between 8 and 10 pounds. I have several fly rods of different weights, but the G. Loomis 5 wt. has been my favorite since I bought it 3 or 4 years ago and the one I use most by far. A great fish caught using a great rod.
